ASBU Performance Framework training course

The course first provides participants with an introduction to the framework of Aviation System Block Upgrades (ASBUs), which is the global technical level of ICAO´s Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP) and serves to address global aviation challenges and opportunities by improving air navigation services in a performance oriented and harmonised manner.
Next, the course goes through the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) associated with the GANP and provides the participants with the knowledge of how these KPIs are defined. To achieve best understanding and practical value, the material of ICAO is interlaced with actual KPIs as defined and used at DFS and in the European Union, on the level of company level service performance as well as in projects with specific performance objectives.

Main course content
Based on the ICAO ASBU framework (https://www4.icao.int/ganpportal/asbu and https://www4.icao.int/ganpportal/asbu/kpi), the following is presented and explained:
 The ASBU Threads;
 Within ASBU Threads, the Concepts of Operation, Blocks, Elements and their various characteristics;
 The Performance Framework of the GANP, Key Performance Areas (KPAs) and KPIs; and
 Knowledge and understanding of the 22 KPIs and best practice examples.

The emphasis in the course is practical, by means of
 Case presentations and site visits;
 Group exercises; and
 Discussions and Q&A.

A certificate of participation is provided to successful candidates.
